Growing-a beard is not the simple exercise you once assumed and now that you have a chin full of luxurious whiskers you’ve encountered more than your fair share of minor niggles. Well, we’ve had them too in our beard wearing days, and this is how we dealt with the most bothersome of those beard dilemmas.
No matter how many beard trimmers you try, you just cannot get those hairs all the same length. Sound familiar? Anyone with a beard has gone through this painful phase, and they will all tell you that only with the patience of the Pope and a trusty pair of scissors will you get it all the same length. Unless that is, you take the much easier route and get it done by a pro. Find a barber that knows beards and have him trim it for you once a week.
Yes, no matter how great an uncle you might be, your niece and nephew just will not give you a hug since you grew your beard. And now even the family dog has taken to growling at you from under the table. Sorry to say the only way out of this is good old fashioned bribery. Chocolate for the kids and steak for the dog.
A common occurrence even for the thickest of beards is for a bald spot to appear. This is quite often Alopecia, a medical condition that will usually correct itself over time and is nothing to worry too much over. Change your style or trim it down while you wait for it to fill out again.
And by that we mean it spends more time in there than in your mouth. From Guinness to Bolognese, bearded men are forever fighting a battle to keep food and creamy drinks out of their whiskers. The only solution here is to drink through a straw or just check a mirror each time you eat. We prefer the latter; drinking Guinness through a straw is just weird.
You spent years finding the style that suits you to a T but now that you’ve got that lovely beard, it’s just not working for you. Head down to the local barber who, if he’s worth his salt, will have plenty of ideas for styles that will suit your newly bearded self.
Don’t be a fool, suits and beards are a great look especially if you’re rocking a custom-tailored suit from Montagio – subtle self-praise there. Seriously though, a suit looks great no matter what your style of hair or beard may be, once that suit is one that fits and suits your particular body shape. Look at David Beckham, has he ever looked bad in a suit?
